Why Zebras?

Zebras are the mascot for Carcinoid cancer.  In medical school students are taught, if you hear hoof beats, think horses.  Well, sometimes its a zebra and if you are not looking for it, you wont find it.  That's true for Carcinoid and all NET cancers as well.  The symptoms mimic so many more common diseases, that Carcinoid is often not diagnosed for years.

National Carcinoid Awareness Day this year is November 10th.   Learn about NET cancers and support research.   For such a rare disease, there has been a lot of progress in treatment most recently, and this is very promising.  Help make Carcinoid a long term illness instead of a terminal one.

That's why my Zebras are charging, they are going for the cure!
